Locals in contention for national sqaud
Lindokuhle Mavuso and Naledi Moagi were recently chosen as for the regions top 20 candidates for the national netball team.

They were chosen for the U/19 team by Netball SA scouts who were at their regional games in Mpumalanga this past weekend.
The two will go on to have further training where the final national team will be selected.
This came as a great surprise for the two players who are both part of the Zest netball team from KwaThema.
“When they called my name it was unbelievable, I thought I was dreaming but I knew that this was what I had always wanted,” reflects Lindokuhle.
The girls were chosen during the week of regional games where they were playing for the Eastern Gauteng A-team.
Five other players from their team were also chosen in the top 20 national team.
The scouts chose the top 20 best players from each region and will continue the selection process to find the final U/19 national team.
“I have worked hard for this my whole life and I am finally one step closer to being in the national squad,” says Naledi.
The two have been playing netball since they were in primary school and both agree that their coach, Girly Mnguni, is the reason they did so well.
“Our coach has always believed in us and we are very grateful that we are under her mentorship. Without her I don’t see any way that we could have made it this far,”adds Naledi.
Girly could not hide her excitement at the news and describes her players as dedicated and skilled.
“You can always count on them to be at practice on time and they always put in the extra effort. They really deserve this,” says Girly.
The two will dedicate the next few weeks to perfecting their craft in the hope of being chosen for the final team.
