Strongman competition
Springsites Willie White and Paul Brink will be competing in the South African Strongman Union's Strongest Man U/105kg event at Menlyn Events Arena over the weekend.
The event, which takes place on the rooftop of Menlyn Mall in Pretoria, will begin with a weigh-in on Friday after which a dinner and the opening ceremony will be provided for the athletes, their partners and the event sponsors.
An additional weigh-in will take place on Saturday morning for those athletes that cannot be there for the first weigh in.
“Fifteen people will be competing on the Saturday and the top 10 will compete for the title on the Sunday,” says Willie.
The winner of the weekend will win the title as well as sponsorships and will go through to the World Championships in Finland in November.
The event is free of charge for contestants as well as spectators and anyone is welcome to go support the contestants.
