Koos takes revenge on golfers
The Springs Country Club was the host of the Green Keeper's Revenge golf game played on Saturday.
About 72 golfers took to the field in this fund-raising fun day.
Koos Erasmus, the club’s green keeper, says he gave instructions to every golfer on what to wear on the day.
“It was just to have fun and to take revenge on the golfers,” he says.
The format was IPS and the golfers gathered at the tee-off at 6.30am, dressed in their strange attire.
Koos says at a meeting held at the club last year, the committee decided to host this event again and it is now scheduled as an annual event.
The idea of the fun day was that Koos takes revenge on all the golfers for fun.
He also moved the golf pins and flags to slopes at the putting greens.
Another interesting trick Koos had up his sleeve, was that he moved the tee-off boxes so the golfers would have to tee-off at different places.
The results are as follow:
The winner of the IPS was Japie Theron with 42 points.
He also won the Nearest the Pin at hole 15.
Donald Godfrey is second with 41 points with Nols Viljoen in third place with 37 points.
Mariaan Hattingh is the winner of the women’s division with 70 points.
Ilana Prinsloo didn’t allow her green wig to break her concentration and is second with 25 points.
In third place it is Tersia Beck with 24 points.
Hannelize de Klerk took Nearest the Pin at hole eight.
The money raised on the day will go toward the maintenance of the field.
“The fun fund raising day was a huge success,” says Koos.
