Super 16 tournament

The Easter Province Kings won the Super 16 Golf Tournament held at the Springs Country Club on Saturday The team scored 91 points.

The winning individual was Chris Marais, who scored 44 points on the day.

In first place in the Betterball Stableford competition was Chris Marais and Arend Grobler, who scored 48 points.

Club green keeper Koos Erasmus and his partner, Piet Labuschagne, took second place with 47 points.

In third place was Ras Jacobs and Barto Greeff with 46 points on count out.

Shelton Masiyo and Themba Soyiso took fourth place with 46 points on count out, followed by Souter Beukes and Dewies van Deventer with 45 points on count out.

Wikus Nel took nearest the pin at the second hole, and Ras at hole eight, Douglas Buckley at hole 12 and Gys Stoltz at hole 15.

The President’s Day golf day will be played on Saturday at the club, followed by prize giving at 4pm.

The East Rand Commercial and Industrial League (Ercil) was postponed to April 16 and will be played at Pollak Park.

Next Super 16 game will be played on April 23.
