Good win for SOB u-12 team
Springs Old Boys (SOB) Soccer Club's u-12 team played against Benoni All Stars on home grounds last Wednesday.
The home team won the game with two goals.
The first goal was scored by Lungile ‘Sonic’ Vilakazi of SOB in the first half.
“It was a good first goal for the team,” says team manager, Titi Nkosi.
Hardly five minutes into the second half Aidan ‘Bongani’ Jayne did what he does best, which is to place the ball in the net.
“He scored a beautiful goal which made the final score 2-0 at the end of the match,” says Nkosi.
The u-12 team suffered their first loss since the start of the season on Sunday.
They played against Kempton Park and lost 0-2.
Nkosi feels it’s not a train smash.
She says the boys will come back stronger because now they have tasted a loss and it “does not sit nicely on their tummies”.
Coach Ronnie Slava believes his boys played well and it was just unfortunate that they didn’t create enough goal scoring opportunities.
“It could be that both goals were scored in the first half and about 10 minutes apart,” he says.
