A win and loss for SOB

Springs Old Boys (SOB) u-12 cricket team lost to KwaThema by 15 runs on Saturday.

The home team lost the toss and KwaThema batted first.

KwaThema batsman Mbheki Dube scored 27 runs before he was caught by SOB opening bowler, Estian Bouwer.

Mbheki was the top batsman for the KwaThema team followed by Kgomotso Mashisi with 18 runs.

The partnership between Mitchell Naude and Nico Lee ended when Mitchell was bowled out after seven runs.

Lee was bowled out directly after him and only managed to score five runs.

Dylan Joubert was run out by KwaThema bowler Mpumelelo Sibango, after only one run.

After Kyle Robertson managed to add four runs to the scoreboard he was caught by KwaThema bowler Tebogo Mjobela .

Jaden-Lee Wolhuter joined Henrico Venter for a good partnership.

Henrico scored 13 runs and the top scorer, Jaden-Lee, scored 24 runs.

Estian was the top bowler, taking two wickets, with Nico, Kyle and Henrico each taking one.

The KwaThema team won with 99 runs in 18 overs and bowled SOB out for 86.

SOB played against Boksburg in the Colts League and won the match with 107 runs in 37 overs on Sunday.

The best bowler was Jayden Mosterd with six overs, two wickets and 17 runs, and Nathan Steyn with seven overs, two wickets and 34 runs.

David Starkie took one wicket in three overs and scored two runs.

The three top batsmen were Eddie Evans with 31 runs, Nathan with 27 runs and Dylan van Zyl with 22 runs.
