Basil wins IPS golf
Pollak Park Golf Course hosted a few competitions over the past week.
The results are as follow:
Basil Houndalas won the Sunday Individual Stableford competition with 38 points followed by Adrian Lavelle in second place with 35 points.
Saturday’s Monthly Medal winner in the A division was Ewan Sim who obtained 73 points, followed by Ross McAllister in second place with 75 points.
The B division saw Okkie Strydom taking first place with 66 points.
His runner-up is Andre Kruger with 70 points.
Ian Stewart was the C division winner with 72 points, followed by Derek Waters with 73 points.
Greg Palmer won the Friday Meat competition with 40 points and his runner-up was Derek Waters who obtained 39 points .
Gerhard Gibson took the best front nine with 21 points and Grant Cockeran took best back nine with 20 points on count out.
The Wednesday league saw Johan Roos taking first place with 44 points followed by Francois Coetzee with 39 points.
The club held their annual general meeting last Thursday and the new chairman is Steve Malloy with Gerhard Gibson as the club captain. Other committee members are Syd Reid, Faan Greyvensteyn, Graham Johnson, Werner du Toit and Marius du Plessis.
