Another successful golf day for Easterns Nomads

Ilana Prinsloo won the Easterns Nomads Memorial Hospice Day held at the Springs Country Club (SCC) on Saturday.

She won the Betterball Stableford with 51 points.

Her runner-up was Wikus Nel with 47 points on count out, followed by Derick Lindsay with 47 points on count out.

Nearest the pin was taken by Mike Fick at hole two, Carlo Vierra at hole eight, Brian Alger at hole 12 and Lappies Labuschagne at hole 15.

Laura Kirsten from Hospice East Rand says they have had a lot of support from the Nomads.

“We appreciate all the help we can get to continue with our services,” she says.

Nomads junior vice-captain Hector King says the weather played along and they all enjoyed the golf course and companionship.

“The men should be ashamed of themselves being beaten by Prinsloo, but it is all for a good cause,” he says.

The golf day was followed by the prize-giving, where Les Floyd opened with the Nomads creed.

He mentioned all the fallen Nomads, including Bennie de Lange from SCC, who passed away recently.

During the raffle draw Matt Dudley won the photo shoot prize; Japie Theron, the golf pack and Charlie Kane, the leather wallet.

The main raffle prize winner was Johan Viljoen.

Gavin Adams won second and third prizes.

Hospice East Rand volunteer Mark Winkler thanked everyone for their continuous support.
