SOB u-9 kicks opponents to curb

The Springs Old Boys u-9 soccer team played against Olympia Football Club from Bedfordview on Saturday as part of the Easterns League.

Coach Nino Lopes says the game was contested by the two top teams in the Easterns Leagues.

“It was a tough affair but Springs Old Boys managed to pull through with a well deserved 3-2 win,” he says.

Goals from Landré Potgieter, Thebo Khanye and Katlego Mokoena sealed the game for Springs.

“It’s always a good, clean and tough game every season with Olympia Football Club but our boys were focused and determined to stay unbeaten at home ground the whole season.”

Springs’ defense was put to the test but stood firm thanks to defenders Themba Msiza and Ceasario Lopes and, as the coach says, their ‘magician’ goalkeeper Thando ‘Mr T’ Mngomezulu.

“I am a very proud coach!”
