Annual general meeting and prize-giving ceremony at Springs Old Boys Cricket Club
Committee remains unchanged after annual general meeting.
The Springs Old Boys Cricket Club had their annual general meeting (AGM) recentlyt with their end of season prize-giving ceremony on the same night.
The AGM was well-attended and it included a report from the chairman of the club Lionel Joubert on the financial state of the club and what has happened with the club this year.
Joubert emphasised that the club is audited and the results of the audit are sent to the Eastern Cricket Union as they receive a grant from them.
The club is in a good financial position with no debts.
The motion to increase the subscription to the club from R980 to R1 000 was granted with no objections from the members.
The office bearers for the club’s committee remained unchanged with Joubert continuing as chairman.
“We do this out of love and passion.
“We do not get paid a salary.

“I appeal to those who have resources they can contribute to do so in any way they can.
“Don’t wait for us to ask you to contribute, you can also offer,” said Joubert to the members of the club.
The prize-giving was then held after the AGM and started with the youngest team at the club.
The under eight team’s coach Calvin was full of praise for his youngsters.
“I am very proud of what these boys have achieved.
“They only lost two games the whole season against the two top teams.
“They played very well throughout the season,” said Calvin.
The club is now preparing for the Winter season which starts next week and ends in August.
