Hopes of lifting the trophy fades for SOB

SOB lost all hope of lifting the trophy as they are now knocked out of the Cup Competition.

The Springs Old Boys (SOB) Senior soccer team played against the Olympia soccer team on Saturday.

SOB lost 2-1 to Olympia.

SOB coach Bruce Stones says: “Saturday was a cup game.

“Unfortunately, we lost.

“The game went to extra time and Olympia snatched the victory with a direct pass and once-off shot on goal.

“We were all over Olympia, with most of the game being played in their half.

“We pressed them relentlessly, but were unfortunate in not finding the back of the net.

“My team deserved the victory with the immense passion and desire they put in, but this is football and sometimes the amount of shots at goal and ball possession can mean nothing.”
