Rossi explains why training on dirt helps your performance on asphalt
Valentino Rossi allows you a sneak peak at the inside of his ranch.
Fans of the Rock Raceway – be they participants or avid fans – may be eagerly awaiting the end of lockdown so they can get back to the track and their favourite hobby.
While it may not be possible, in the meantime your favourite Italian professional motorcycle road racer and multiple MotoGP World Champion, Valentino Rossi, takes fans on a sneak peek inside his private ranch training ground in Italy.
Rossi explains why training on dirt helps you improve on asphalt.
“It’s more difficult to organize training on the track,” says Rossi.
“Sometimes we go to Misano, other times Mugello but we can’t do it every week. The ranch was created from an oval, then we made another one, and finally, the
rest of the track, which looks like a TT, with fast corners and hairpins.
”We needed a place to improve our skills in controlling the bike when it starts to skid,” explained Rossi.
“You have to move on the seat to find some grip. You also need this when riding on asphalt.”
