Boxers selected for South Africa Elite and Youth Champs
Gerhard Thysse ended the three three-minute rounds against Morgan Hunter (Western Gauteng) as the winner on points.
Three local boxers from the Bert Collins Boxing Club, who represented Ekurhuleni at the Gauteng Championships over the weekend, emerged victoriously.

Geannè Dicks faced Sidumiso Mabaso from Johannesburg and won on points.
Minnet Dicks was unopposed.

“All three of them are selected to represent Gauteng at the South Africa Elite and Youth Championships in Western Cape at Kuilsriver. The event will take place during the September school break,” explained coach Jeanette Dyzel of the club.
Geannè Dicks also won the best Elite Female trophy.
“Both Dicks and Thysse lacked fitness in the last rounds but still managed to pull through and beat their opponents.
“We are going back to the drawing board to make sure they are fighting fit for the SAs,” she added.
