SPL T20 ready for final

Gujrat Titans will clash with Gattu 11 in the final of the SPL T20 Winter Cricket Knockout Tournament on Sunday.
“We have finally found our finalists. Congratulations to both the teams, they truly deserve to be in the position they are in. They have both worked hard to reach the level where they are now. I hope the community comes out in numbers to enjoy the game,” said Javid Patel, the tournament’s organiser.

He said the tournament’s high standard is a result of the 25 sponsors that have contributed to their success and believes hosting it in Springs is bringing the town into the spotlight.

“I am also grateful to everyone who participated. From the umpires to those who helped us to keep the pitch looking good throughout the tournament and the paramedics that attended to injured players,” he said.
Patel promises loads of entertainment for the family on the last day. He said the day will end with a fireworks display.

To reach the finals Gujrat batted first and scored 198/5 in 20 overs against Nas. They won by nine runs.
Their top batter was Gulam Bodi, who was also one of the top bowlers.
In the second semifinal on Sunday, Gattu 11 played Eagle Eleven. They scored 190/3 in 19.2 overs and won by seven wickets.
The final will take place at the Springs Old Boys Club from 10:00. Entrance is free.
