Bakerton cricket bats out Wattville
The Bakerton YSCC bagged several wins throughout the season.
It was a slow start as Bakerton Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) looked to be in trouble against Wattville at CBC Boksburg on December 3.
Great batting, however, helped Bakerton YSCC score 284/9 after 50 overs.
Mehboob Khan (26), Ebrahim Karolia (16), Aslam Patel (22) and Abdullah Saeed (23) helped to rescue the the team, tkaing them to 110/6. Azhar Shaikh (25 not out) and Abdul Sikanders (78) then completed the fight back.
Bakerton bowled Wattville out for 192 in 33.4 overs. Best bowlers were Yusuf Teladia (33/3 in six overs), Azhar Shaikh (34/3 in 8.4 overs), and Abdullah Saeed (30/3 in eight overs).
Bakerton YSCC won by 91 runs.
The club is overjoyed to have finished the first half of the season first on the points table and undefeated in this promotion league.
