As Bafana Bafana step onto football’s biggest stage today, South Africa is united in nerves and pride.
The boys in green and gold are set for their second World Cup group match against Czechia at 18:00.
Some supporters have expressed concern after South Africa’s opening 2-0 defeat to Mexico, a match made even more challenging by the red cards shown to Sphephelo “Yaya” Sithole and Themba Zwane.
The result left many questioning Bafana Bafana’s chances of progressing to the next round.
However, not all hope is lost. Optimistic fans believe the national team has what it takes to bounce back and secure a victory against Czechia. Supporters are backing the squad to overcome the setback.
We asked community members for their predictions and thoughts ahead of the match.
Here’s what they had to say:
Itumeleng Moshuhla: My prediction for today's game is if Bafana Bafana don't play a draw, they are going to win 1-0. A goal will be scored by Evidence Makgopa or Iqraam Rayners, and the formation will be 3-4-3.

Thokozani Zwane: Bafana Bafana will draw 1-1 with Czechia. SA will score first, probably in the first half.

Bohlale Thinane: I think the score is going to be 1-1 if not 2-1. Bafana for the win. I think because of the disappointment from the previous game, Hugo Broos might switch formation and let the team play in a formation they're most comfortable with; and he will involve more of the star players like Rele Mofokeng, Moremi, and Makgopa.

Kamohelo Mnyaka: The final score will be a 2-1. I am confident we will perform but will lose again. My prediction is we're going to struggle with set plays. That's your corner kicks, free kicks and long throws because our players aren't the tallest.

Andile Tyumbu: I went through all types of emotions with that opening game. If we had a draw, I would be hopeful. I predict a 3-2 or 4-2 loss for South Africa. Goals will be scored by Relebohile Mofokeng or Teboho Mokoena, if he starts.

Karabo Nkosi: I believe South Africa will draw 1-1.

Kgadi Lesetja: I'm guessing the formation will be 5-3-2. Either way, we’re losing the game.

Olwethu Dlulane: I am going for a 2-1 win for Bafana Bafana. Goals will be scored by Lyle Foster and Oswin Appollis.

Skhumbuzo Mbonani: We are definitely winning this 2-1.The formation will be 4-3-3.
