Springs Tigers’ junior teams impress with victories across ELFA fixtures
From a perfect season to a long-awaited first victory, Springs Tigers Football Club's junior teams delivered plenty of highlights during a busy weekend of ELFA action.
Springs Tigers Football Club enjoyed another action-packed weekend of football in Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA), with several teams recording impressive victories, one side maintaining a perfect season and another celebrating its first win of the campaign.
The weekend began on the evening of July 24 when the U9A side defeated Old Bens 2-0 in an away game to get the club off to a winning start.
On July 25 at their home ground in Selpark Primary School sports ground, the U7L2 team battled to a goalless draw against Bonaero, while the U7L3 side put in a spirited performance despite a narrow 3-2 defeat to Kempton Park.
The club’s U7L4 team continued its outstanding season in an away game with a 2-0 victory over Edenvale, extending its perfect record to 10 wins from 10 matches.

The club shared that the U8 team also continued its impressive form away with a commanding 5-0 win over Birchacres.
The victory marked the side’s 16th win in 17 matches across all competitions this season, highlighting its consistency throughout the campaign.
One of the weekend’s biggest celebrations came from the U9B team, which secured its first victory of the season at home by defeating Olympiacos 4-2.
The U10 side went down 5-2 against Blackball, while the U11 team earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Absalom Tete in their away games. The U12 team suffered a difficult outing, losing 7-0 against Generation.

Although the U13 side lost 2-0 to Springs Premier, the club expressed that the result reflected significant progress after suffering a heavy 15 -1 defeat against the same opponents earlier in the season.
In an away game, the U17 team rounded off the weekend with an entertaining away fixture, narrowly losing 4-3 to the Sunward Park Tigers.
The club praised all its players, coaches and parents for their commitment throughout the weekend.
“Congratulations to all our winning teams, and to those who came up short, keep believing and keep working hard. The improvement across our teams is evident, and the future is bright,” concluded the club.
