A fun, youthful read

The Chronicles of Egg: New Lands by Geoff Rodkey is the second book in the series. After a narrow escape from Deadweather Island, Egg and the slightly deranged Guts, his partner, head for the remote New Lands where they search for the lost Okalu tribe, who hold the key to Egg’s mysterious treasure map.

Hot on their trail is the ruthless Roger Pembroke and a few new enemies they have made along the way.

Egg and Guts’ only weapons are their brains and courage. I enjoy young adult books for boys as they are fun and easy to read – a great change of pace from adult books who are always trying so hard to be clever.

Egg’s adventures are fun to read, takes you on a joyride and it’s something young and old to enjoy.

I highly recommend this to teenage boys, and anyone else who would like to escape to an island full of pirates.
