Book: The Fall of Five Author: Pittacus Lore Reviewed by: Natasha Kotze Review made possible by: Penguin Books Rating: Disappointing

The Fall of Five is the fourth novel in I Am Number Four series by Pittacus Lore. The Garde are finally reunited, but can they win the war against the Mogadorians?

John Smith, Number Four, always thought, once the Garde found one another, they would stop running and they would fight the Mogadorians. He was sure they would win.

But, after facing off with the Mogadorian ruler and almost being destroyed, the Garde have realised they are unprepared and outgunned. Now they’re hiding out in Nine’s Chicago penthouse, trying to figure out their next move.

The six of them are powerful, but they’re not strong enough yet to take on an entire army.

When they receive a sign from Number Five they know they are close to being reunited, but fear it could be another Mogadorian trap.

Time is running out, and the only thing they know for certain is that they have to get to Five before it’s too late.

The book doesn’t have a lot of action and when it finally has some action, the book ends. So that was a disappointment.

With the book being aimed at a young audience, I found the excessive cursing unnecessary.

It also felt really short and I can’t help but think this book was just a filler to expand the series by one book.

I hope the next book is better written and fits in better with the style of writing of the other books in the series.
