A hero’s welcome for Quad 4 Quads riders
As part of the 13th annual Quads 4 Quads mass ride, riders on about 600 quad bikes and two wheel motorcycles, will end their journey from KwaZulu-Natal at Carnival City on October 9.
The riders will include several quadriplegic and paraplegic riders on adapted quads.
The event starts in Johannesburg on September 29 and each rider will travel about 250km for eight hours each day.
This journey will take the riders to Durban and then to Carnival City.
The race represents the spirit of QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) and quadriplegics everywhere by their firm belief that having a physical disability does not affect their ability to endure and to be the best that they can be.
The event was started by The Adventure Company and is run by Glenn Foley and Corinne Andrews, who raise funds and awareness for QASA.
Quads 4 Quads has raised over R7-million for QASA.
Ari Seirlis chief executive officer of QASA, as well as other well-known quadriplegics and paraplegics will be riding adapted bikes.
This will be the 12th time Seirlis is participating.
Quads 4 Quads is a family ride which encourages everyone to get involved, whether they’re helping at the daily rest stops or joining the riders off road.
