In 1993, Steven Spielberg stunned the world with the release of the science-fiction adventure film Jurassic Park.

Based on the book by Michael Crichton, the film was a mammoth blockbuster and just like the T-Rex’s footprint, it made a huge impact on the movie industry.

Unfortunately, aside from receiving high praise from fans and critics, the film also spawned several sequels, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom being the latest clone in the franchise.

In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the story follows on from where the 2015 film Jurassic World left off.

It has been three years since the luxury resort and theme park on Isla Nublar was destroyed by dinosaurs after they escaped from their enclosures.

Now, in the wake of the destruction and the expensive lawsuits/settlements, the island has been abandoned by humans, and the dinosaurs have free rein of their domain.

That is until a dormant volcano begins to erupt, threatening to destroy the island and cause the dinosaurs to become extinct…again.

With the clock ticking, Owen and Claire are lured, under false pretences, to be part of a rescue mission in order to save several species from the island and relocate them to a protected sanctuary.

Unfortunately, as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and Owen and Claire soon realise that they have been lied to.

Instead of rescuing the dinosaurs in an attempt to preserve them, the people backing the mission are part of a ruthless animal-trafficking ring and are only interested in selling the reptiles, on the black market, to the highest bidder.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the fifth film in the Jurassic Park series and the second instalment in the Jurassic World trilogy.

This action-adventure moves with the speed of an enraged velociraptor, but it doesn’t have a powerful bite.

Sadly, no matter how many clones film studios produce, none of the sequels to date will ever live up to the original.
