January entries almost closed

Here is your opportunity to win the wedding of your dreams

If you are planning to enter the Wish Upon A Wedding in January, you only have a couple of days left to do so.

The paper has received the first entries and the competition is afoot.

Anyone living in Springs or KwaThema who got engaged this month, or last December (2018) is eligible to enter the competition and stands the chance of winning a fully paid for wedding.

How it works

Each month, from January 1 to December 31, we will run a proposal of the month competition, inviting anyone who has gotten engaged over the last two months to enter the competition.

The deadline for the January competition is 4pm on January 31.

However, if you get engaged in January, you will still be eligible to enter the February competition.

You will, however, not be able to enter in March as each month’s competition is only open to people getting engaged in the current month and the month before.

Couples may only enter once – you cannot resubmit your entry for the following month if you do not win the first time you enter.

Once the monthly competition has closed, each couple’s story, photo and video will be posted online at www.springsadvertiser.co.za/wish-upon-wedding/ and readers will be invited to vote for their favourite proposal or couple.

• When voting for their favourite couple of the month, readers may only vote once. Duplicate entries from the same person will not be counted.

• Readers may vote for a different couple, or multiple couples, each month and in the final round.

The winner of each of the 12 monthly competitions will move into the final round in which readers will vote for the best proposal of the year, selecting the grand-prize winners.

Enter

In order to enter you need to send the following items to editor Samantha Keogh at springseditorial@caxton.co.za by the closing date:

• The first and last name of both partners, where you live and the contact number and email address of both people. Only one of you needs to currently reside in Springs or KwaThema.

• The completed entry form (found below) which can also be downloaded from the story ‘How do I enter the Wish Upon A Wedding competition?’ found under the enter tab on the website.

• A JPEG photo of the couple. The photo should be of the couple alone with no other people in it. Photos must be submitted electronically in a JPEG attachment and must be between 1MB and 3MB.

• A video of no longer than two minutes, or written account of not more than 200 words, of the proposal.

• A 150- to 200-word motivation explaining why you should win the grand prize.

Rules

• Anyone who does not abide by the rules (see the full rules and Ts&Cs on our website www.springsadvertiser.co.za/wish-upon-wedding/) will be disqualified.

• Photos which do not meet the criteria set out above, or WhatsApp photos, will not be accepted and the entry will be disqualified. No correspondence will be entered into if photos are rejected for not meeting the criteria.

• By entering you accept all the rules and give permission for your photos and details of your proposal to be published in the Springs Advertiser newspaper and online on www.springsadvertiser.co.za/wish-upon-wedding/ and on any other digital platform used to promote the competition including, but not limited to, Facebook and Instagram.
