Springs church feeding scheme supports over 100 vulnerable residents
Through its third monthly feeding initiative, the church continues to support homeless and unemployed residents with meals and compassion.
In a continued effort to support vulnerable members of the community, Jesus Christ Apostolic Church in the Springs CBD hosted its third monthly feeding scheme on June 24.
The soup kitchen, which provides warm meals to those in need, aims to bring relief to struggling families and individuals while fostering a spirit of compassion and unity within the community.
The church’s coordinator, Henry Kgomo, told the Springs Advertiser that the programme has grown to feed over 100 beneficiaries, doubling the targeted number.
He shared that the beneficiaries are satisfied with the professional service provided by the church members.

Kgomo highlighted that the church’s challenge is that donations come from church members, many of whom do not have a permanent income.
“We believe that God will bless the business that will donate to the church for this cause.
“We pray that the beneficiaries we feed here will grow in strength and ultimately sustain themselves through self-employment and job creation,” said Kgomo.
Kgomo shared that the church aims to provide relief to vulnerable groups, such as the homeless and the unemployed, and is looking to grow the project through sponsorships across Springs.
