Community invited to restore Springs Civic Theatre precinct on Mandela Day
Residents and businesses are invited to spend 67 minutes giving back by helping clean, repair and beautify the Springs Civic Theatre surroundings on July 18.
Community members, businesses and organisations are invited to roll up their sleeves and help beautify the surroundings of the Springs Civic Theatre during a Mandela Day clean-up campaign on July 18.
The initiative will see volunteers dedicate 67 minutes of service to cleaning, repairing and improving the theatre precinct as part of the annual Mandela Day celebrations.
The clean-up starts at 09:00, with organisers encouraging residents to help restore pride in the Springs CBD by making the area cleaner and more welcoming.
Volunteers are asked to bring snacks and cold drinks, brooms, black refuse bags and any other items that could assist with the clean-up effort.
Businesses are also encouraged to contribute services or materials that could support the project.

Assistance is needed with electrical work, fountain repairs, nursery plants and other services that will enhance the theatre surroundings.
Organisers say the campaign is an opportunity for the community to work together to create a lasting impact.
The initiative is led by the DA, the City of Ekurhuleni, Springs Ekurhuleni Municipality, Springs Civic Theatre staff, Allegretto Toneelfees and several sponsors.
