Ladies soccer team aims for the sky
They do not only play soccer but engage in other activities
They called themselves Intuthuko Old Age Training Centre.
They are a group of old ladies and their aim is to promote sport and a healthy lifestyle in old people.
They do not only play soccer but engage in other activities.
The team was formed in 2017 and the aim is to keep fit by training, living a healthy lifestyle, playing soccer, be involved in mural activities like music and entertainment.
Presently they have 19 members and they are based at Hlalanikahle.
Their trainer coach is Vusi Sikhosana.
“He train us in physical fitness, coaches us about soccer and has a set out programme for us even if he is not present. We train from Monday to Friday from 06:30 till 08:00 every morning at the Hlalanikahle Community Hall,” said Ms Nelly Hlatshwayo, a member of the team.
The team is inviting elderly people to join them as to keep healthy and fit and they are looking for their own place.
They hope to join other ladies’ social teams to form a league of their own in the future.
