Riverview riders “rein” supreme

Riverview Stables had two primary school riders competing

The South African National Equestrian Schools Association (SANESA) held their first qualifying show at Badplaas Forever Resort from February 1 to February 3.

As per usual, Riverview Stables put their best foot forward and came home victorious.

Riverview Stables had two primary school riders competing; Ayden Vosloo representing Laerskool Kragbron and Llewelyn van der Walt representing Laerskool Taalfees.

Ayden achieved a first place for working riding, a third place for the 80cm Show Jumping accumulator round (the accumulator class contains a show jumping course comprised of eight jumps and one “joker.”

The “joker” is an obstacle which is higher or more technically difficult than the rest of the obstacles.

The rider with the best time and fewest penalties wins), a 6th place for 80cm Show Jumping competition (in the competition round, the riders navigate a course of jumps.

After this first “round”, the riders with zero penalties progress to a “jump off” where the rider who completes the next round in the shortest time with the fewest penalties wins) and a seventh place for working hunter.

Llewelyn van der Walt received an eighth place for working riding and two sixth places for dressage level 1.

Chantel Edwards, Riverview Stables’ yard manager, also competed on her pitch black Friesian stallion Humphries Bismarck in the adult dressage classes that were on offer. Chantel and Bismarck stunned the crowds and went home with a first place for AN 1 and a fifth place for AN 2.
