Decota MMA fighter had the fight of the night

The first main card fight was between Westley Smit and his opponent, these boys went out swinging for the fences with only one thing in mind “Knock Out.”

Westley clipped his opponent very early on in the first round and rushed the finish, his opponent recovered and Westley dropped his hand and got caught with an over hand and the fight was over.

In the co-event of the evening Johannes “Warrior” Rudolph “Decota MMA” vs Eric van Rooyen “Thunder MMA” – definitely the fight of the night on Saturday, March 23.

In the first round both fighters showed up to fight, both left it all in the cage, Eric came with a good game plan as “EFC” Professional MMA Fighter Pietie Thunder Coxen as his coach prepared him well for Johannes from Decota MMA.

Eric won round one using his size and weight to dominate Johannes, both fighters exchanged shots on the stand up, Johannes caught Eric with a crisp right hook on the head and down Eric went, Johannes following him and Eric manages to get a reversal on Johannes and rode the round out on top of Johannes. But you can never count Decota MMA out.

In round two, this is where Fanie “The Viper” Professional MMA Fighter and Decota MMA’s head coach changed Johannes’s game plan.

The boys went in with the stand up exchanges and matching each other blow for blow and Johannes starting to get the better of Eric with his leg kicks and head kicks.

Johannes scooped Eric up, walked with him to the other side of the cage and slammed him on his back and started to do his damage with ground and pound but not finishing Eric, Johannes backed out and let Eric get back to stand up.

Eric managed to get Johannes onto the fence and started punching non-stop forcing Johannes to shoot for a takedown.

Eric managed to secure the top position and started to do his own damage on the ground and the bell went for the second round.

In the third round this is where it came down to who wants it the most, both fighters standing and trading shot after shot, again Johannes landing his shots and his kicks.

Johannes manages to kick Eric on the head and down goes Eric, clearly the fight should have been stopped there but the ref decided that Eric is ok.

Johannes carried on the punches here and there and started to knee Eric in the ribs.

Eric verbally tapped out due to strikes from the knee and Johannes threw a knee again as the ref didn’t see the tap and then stopped the fight after Eric didn’t want any more.
