While on her off day, Const Maggie Madisa received a tip off from the CPF of Coronation claiming there was a dagga plantation.
“We received the information about the dagga plantation in Lekasi- Coronation and went out with three vehicles,” said Const Madisa.
On December 7 police arrived on scene and discovered a plantation roughly 1.5m high and 5m in length. Police seized the plantation and transported it to the lost and found property and exhibits store; they were informed that the plantation’s owner had fled by bicycle.
No arrests have yet been made but police have positive identification of the suspect and are expected to make an arrest.

The dagga plantation is estimated to be worth over R10 000.
This is just one of many successes, last week police made an additional three arrests related to narcotics.
On December 2 police were out on patrol in the Central Business District when they noticed a suspicious person walking in Haig Street, they approached the suspect and searched him to find him in possession of the drug known as rocks, he was immediately detained.
Another suspect was found in possession of suspected rocks that same day, this time in Mandela Street. Police noticed the suspect and requested to search him; they then found him in possession of the drugs, this lead to his arrest.
While out on patrol in Old Coronation police received a tip off that there was a woman selling drugs, police followed up on the information and found the woman with a newspaper in her hand, they searched it and found R10 worth of suspected dagga, the woman was arrested for selling drugs.
