Problems at Kromdraai

Some members of the community of Kromdraai have raised their concerns about allegations of bribery by the Red Ants.

One of the member, Mr Elijah Skosana says they have been staying at the area since 1988 and the Red Ants does not show any respect when conducting their operations in the area.

Some of the allegations are: The ask for bribery failing which they dismantle your shack and take your corrugation iron with them. Councillor in the area, Timothy Lukhele said they had several meetings with the Red Ants to sort the issues but they are alleged to continue to do dismantle shacks and terrorise the people.

They are said to be the law unto themselves.
