
A 22-year-old man’s good nature lead to his hijacking on Friday evening.
The hijacking took place at about19:00 on Friday evening when a 22-year-old man was driving along Mandela Road and came across three hitchhikers.
He offered them a lift, in return they paid him for his kindness.
Moments later while continuing along the road, one of the passengers drew a fire arm and pointed it at the driver. The suspect instructed the man to pull off of the road and into the nearby field.
The driver refused and in turn was beaten by the three suspects. He managed to stop the vehicle and made a run for it, however this wasn’t before the suspects could rob him of his phone and the money they paid him.
One of the suspects took to the wheel and they drove away with his white Toyota Quantum.
The 22-year-old man came across reaction officer from CSC Tactical who offered him assistance in opening a case of hijacking at the Witbank Police Station

The man after opening his case was taken to hospital for possible injury sustained in the hijacking.
The driver was beaten by the three suspects
