Harmse to represent Van Zyl’s attacker in court

Van Zyl’s attacker was again brought up from custody in Winterton to appear before the Witbank Magistrates Court on September 21.

Facing the charge of robbery with aggravated circumstances, the young man previously sought legal aid before pressing on in the matter,

“I am having an issue with the attorney and want to apply for legal aid,” he said in his previous appearance.

His reasoning behind his statement was that his grandparents were paying the legal fees for the case.

Magistrate Marlene Greyvenstein remanded the case for November 2 for additional consultation to take please between his attorney, Mr Koos Harmse and the prosecutor.

Copies of all the necessary documentation were given to both legal parties.
The accused remains in custody and was returned Winterton.
