
Drug related crimes is still a huge headache for Witbank SAPS.
In cooperation with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) the SAPS arrested 15 suspects that believed to have dealt or were in possession of drugs in this past week.
“The station commander of Witbank SAPS, Brigadier Goodness Motha plans to intensify all efforts to rid the city of drugs, be it drug users or drug dealers,” said Capt Eddie Hall, police spokesperson.
Capt Hall also highlighted more successes in the fight against crime. Four suspects were arrested for shoplifting, 11 for general theft, one for common robbery, five for house break-ins and three for possession of stolen property.
Five drivers landed behind bars when they were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, one was arrested for violation of a protection order, three for malicious damage to property and three for fraud.
Three illegal immigrants also met the long arm of the law and landed behind bars. One suspect was arrested for possession of a firearm, one for resisting arrest, four for public violence, 20 for assault, two for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and five for murder.
