Yet another car has crashed into Dot Nortje’s wall, this has seen more than 10 vehicles being in her yard after missing the bend at the t-junction.

WITBANK NEWS had previously reported about a white Hyundai that crashed into her wall on May 14. The most recent crash was seen on November 27.

The wall of Miss Dot Nortje’s home situated at Dora Street and Gordon Road has been smashed so many times, she has lost count. In the previous article she did mention that more than 10 vehicles have been in her yard.

It was on a Sunday morning when she woke up and found a hole in her wall. She mentioned that she would prefer it if motorists who cause this would wake her up to alert her of the incident. In this case the driver was not found in the morning as they were questioning themselves about what had happened. However a number plate was found on scene which she posted on her Facebook page stating that she was looking for the person that was responsible.

The following day being a Monday the person in question contacted her husband and has made arrangements for the wall to be fixed.

“I have been down this road numerous times before with the municipality. I have sent a request for street lights to be fixed so at least motorists will be able to see the wall.”

She also mentioned that this song has been sung from 2012 but no one from the council has come forth to assist.

“If this can be fixed, it could be of major help to me and motorists as the drivers will be wary of the wall that is next to the bend. Animals also leave the yard once the hole is open and wander around on the streets,” concluded Nortje.

The municipality did not respond by the time of going to press.
Another car crashed into a wall at Swartbos Street and later fled the scene. When Miss Hilda Goosen woke up on Saturday morning, November 26 she saw all of this in the yard.

Some pieces of the car are still lying around. The damage is quite large with the electric fence being damaged as well.

If anyone knows anything about the incident, please contact Goosen on 082 511 3489.
