Thieves can’t resist sweet smelling perfume

Erasmus phoned the police and the owner, Ms Kim Rahilly.

Anderson Makhanya’s perception of security guards has changed drastically after three men who dressed like security guards stole from the clothing shop he works in late last week.

Makhanya opened Penny Lane clothing just after 07:00 on Friday, April 20 to get everything ready for the stream of customers who visit this popular clothing shop in Ga-Nala.

Shortly after he opened up, three men dressed in security uniforms entered the shop, tied Makhanya up and opened a fire extinguisher on him.

Mr Rudo Erasmus who popped in early at the shop said he heard a muffled sound and thought to himself that maybe Makhanya was making coffee.
“I decided to go look and found Anderson tied up to the security gate at the back. He was traumatised but very happy to see me,” Erasmus said.

Erasmus phoned the police and the owner, Ms Kim Rahilly.

“I am so disappointed in the human race. Is there no more good in anyone anymore? I am just happy that Anderson is ok,” Rahilly said.

She said she is convinced that the thieves were after money.

The men got away with perfume with a resale value of R10 000.
