Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog is a force to be reckoned with this year.
They are currently playing in the pre-league series ‘Super Reeks’ against schools from Pretoria, Rustenburg, and Ermelo.
On Thursday March 14, HGH played against Hoërskool Tuine from Pretoria.
This school has greatly improved their winter sports since Hertzog played them in 2018 and proved to be a very worthy opponent in the rugby games.
HGH hockey teams, however, played only their best game of hockey and all Hertzog hockey teams were victorious.
One of the highlights was the under 15 girls who beat Tuine by 8 goals to 1.
The netball girls at Hertzog played brilliant netball and a parent commented afterwards, “Mighty Maroon, you make netball such a beautiful game.”
The first team match was particularly impressive where the HGH girls won by 39 goals to 9.
The next match in the ‘Super Reeks’ for Hertzog is against an old rival, Ligbron in Ermelo.
