Burnt body found in Duvha Park

The body of Mr Philip Molapo was found burnt in Duvha Park when the police responded to a call out to the scene.

The body was found next to the river in Ext 9 on Tuesday, August 13, at around 19:30.

According to the police’s observation the deceased was assaulted and burnt afterwards but they are unsure by what or who.

The body was identified by the sister of the deceased, Ms Betty Molapo and alleged that she last saw her brother at her house a few days before they found him deceased.

She said that they are very saddened about his passing.

“As the family we are very sad and hurt about his passing because it was unexpected and it is sad how we found his body.”

Ms Molapo said that they had his funeral on Saturday, August 17 because they could not keep Mr Molapo’s body for longer the way it was.

She added that Mr Molapo was a great man and everyone knew him as a good man in the community.

A murder case was opened at Witbank Police Station and the suspect is unknown.
