Shots heard over and over in Old Coronation
The police attended a crime scene where a man was shot in his head and was declared dead
After the death of the beloved resident of eMalahleni, Mr Peet Swanepoel still fresh in the minds of the community, Old Coronation also had their fair share of murders this past weekend.
On August 30 at about 20:40 the first shots were fired in Old Coronation leaving a man dead.
It was alleged by the complainant that phoned the police that he was still busy watching television when he heard a gunshot.
On the police arrival an eyewitness alleged that four unknown suspects started attacking the deceased and before he could help he heard a gunshot.
The suspects then fled the scene.
Another murder occurred at about 21:15 on the same date.
The police attended a crime scene where a man was shot in his head and was declared dead.
On August 31 at 01:17 another man was shot for his belongings.
He alleged that the suspects just came out of the dark and demanded him to give them all his belongings and after he gave his belongings they shot him in the right thigh.
In another incident the police attended a scene at Old Coronation at 02:10 where they found a dead man lying in his own blood; a murder docket was opened.
Ten minutes after attending this scene the police were informed about another murder that occurred in Old Coronation where a man was shot in the chest and died on scene.
It is believed that all these murders were with the same firearm, the police are still investigating these murders.
