What seems to be a jealous frenzy led to the death of two people.

A man shot his girlfriend several times, killed his girlfriend’s mother and shot himself in Vosman on Friday, April 3.

The man allegedly shot his girlfriend on the mine where she was working, drove to Hlalanikahle X2 and shot his girlfriend’s mother dead.

The community called Vosman Police, who spotted the man’s car and started giving chase. Allegedly the man shot himself while the car was in motion and the car collided with a fixed object in the road. He was declared dead on the scene.

According to Brig Leonard Hlathi, provincial police spokesperson the woman was taken to hospital.

He urges people not to rely on guns or physical strength during a confrontation but rather to seek help.

“No problem can be solved if any decision is taken in the heat of the moment. Allow the situation to normalise before taking any action,” he advised.
