The wheeling and dealing of stolen goods in eMalahleni is nothing new to the residents as all have fallen victim of a house break-in or even robbery in the past.
Witbank Police along with CSC Tactical took one of the most notorious buyers of stolen good of the streets.
WITBANK NEWS reported in September 2019 about the alleged big buyer of stolen goods who is believed to be behind most of the trading in stolen goods in eMalahleni over the past two years. He was apprehended after years of trying to arrest the Congolese national, known by his workers as ‘John’.
Although it is still unclear of how this kingpin gets out of jail, again and again, he yet again got caught red-handed on May 12.
“As a security company we strive to give our clients the best service and in this case, we just met our standards as one of our officers investigated a break-in that occurred at one of our client’s residents. After all, information was gathered we gave it over to the police,” said senior management of CSC Tactical.
According to Capt. Eddie Hall in a media release members followed up the information that was given to them of two suspects who are involved in several housebreaking and house robbery cases in eMalahleni the past month.
The investigations lead them to the house of a 28-year old suspect who is staying in Tasbetpark as well as a 29-year old suspect staying in Vosman.
“The police executed two search warrants at the suspect’s houses and found the following stolen items in their possession, three flat-screen televisions, four air guns, one bicycle, camping equipment and two sound systems,” Hall added.
The lawful owners of the stolen items were identified and informed of their properties that were recovered.
According to the victims who opened the housebreaking and robbery cases, the suspects used the air guns to rob them during the house robberies of their personal belongings.
The two suspects were arrested on the scene and will appear at Witbank Magistrate’s Court on charges of housebreakings and house robberies.
Brigadier Ndlovu commended the members for their professional and diligent work that was done to ensure that these criminal elements are arrested and brought to justice.
