eMalahleni local ‘catches up’ with hijacker

A local resident Mr Ryno Hattingh successfully nabbed a suspected hijacker on the R555 earlier tonight.

Three suspects’ hijacking spree was cut short thanks to the brave and quick action from a community member of eMalahleni.

Mr Ryno Hattingh successfully nabbed a suspected hijacker after he found himself next to vehicle recovery agents on the Old Middelburg Road (R555) on July 23.

The team was busy recovering a stolen truck when the suspects started fleeing the scene on foot.

Hattingh didn’t think twice and ran after one of the suspects. After approximately two kilometres away from the scene, he apprehended the suspect in a field.
