Man burns to death in his shack near campus

Mr Thomas Segwale must have died a very lonely death after he burned in his shack near the Mpondozankomo campus.

Segwale, who was a motor mechanic was staying alone in his shack.

It is not known what was the cause of the fire.

Neighbours tried to put out the fire but it was too little too late to save his life.

One of the neighbours confirmed that Segwale was a very sweet man who was friendly with most people in the neighbourhood and they were still surprised and shocked about the incident.

The fire caused a lot of damage as all that was inside burned to the ground and nothing was saved.

The value of the damage is also not known.

Segwale is originally from Mozambique.

Police have opened a case of arson.
