Team Zama reported that on Sunday, November 22 the Top 4 spots were up for grabs in the Idols SA Season 16 and Zama Khumalo showed up and showed off that she is indeed an Idol.

She continued to win the hearts and votes of #TeamZama fans while proving that she has what it takes to be the next South African Idol for Season 16.

“Having said goodbye to Ndoni who did not manage to get enough votes to make it into the Top 4, she had to bid farewell to the Idols stage. Zama paid homage to the music stable that might just be their new home if they win the competition; Kalawa Jazmee and performed songs by artists who have been part of the record label over the years. The second half of the show featured a favourite from last year, The Mzansi Gay Choir. The only surviving and multi-talented woman in the competition, Zama, paid tribute to the late legendary Lebo Mathosa by performing Boom Shaka’s ‘Thobela’. Somizi Mhlongo loved her vocals; he felt she had fallen short with her performance. “Vocally you killed it, it was fresh, young and current,” he said, with Randall agreeing with him.

Unathi added that South Africa needs much more to make it to the finale and win the competition.

She redeemed herself in the second half of the show, as she performed ‘Sweet Dreams’ by Beyoncé, when she was backed and complemented by the talented Mzansi Gay Choir.

Both Randall and Unathi commended her for her performance with Somizi saying it was beautiful.

“With the three weeks left before we announce the winner, Idols SA fans are in for a treat! What we are seeing here is the making of new stars and Mzansi Magic is proud to have provided a platform for the contestants to make their dreams a reality,” says Nomsa Philiso, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-NET.
