‘Tjo Tjo’ sees three local law enforcement officers in cuffs

Three law enforcement officers landed behind bars for accepting ‘tjo tjo’.

Three local law enforcement officers were arrested early this morning on charges of corruption.

The men aged 59, 53, 38 were arrested while parading shortly after 07:30 on December 28.

They appeared in Witbank Magistrate Court and was granted R2 000 bail each. The case was postponed to March 10 for further investigation.

This arrest comes after a joint operation between the Hawks Serious Corruption Investigation Middleburg and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).

An undercover operation revealed that the officers allegedly received bribes instead of writing fines for the undercover agents who did not adhere to traffic regulations.
