Emalahleni is declared a Covid-19 hotspot

The local Coronavirus Command Council will meet on Tuesday, January 12 to discuss the way forward.

The MEC for Health in Mpumalanga, Ms Sasekani Manzini declared Emalahleni a hotspot. Due to the rising numbers of Covid-19 positive cases.

“The community should take precautions and adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines as prescribed by the Department of Health and the National Coronovirus Command Council,” said municipal spokesperson Mr Lebo Mofokeng.

He said community members are urged to wear their masks whenever they are in public spaces. Social distancing, washing of hands and the use of alcohol based sanitizers are highly recommended.

“If you exhibit any symptoms associated by Covid-19, necessary medical precautions such as consulting a doctor, self-isolation, and quarantine should be explored,” Mofokeng said.
