Warm welcome for Zama

She promised that she won’t disappoint the people of the city, the province and South Africa

It was a celebration fit for a queen when Zama Khumalo was welcomed in the city of eMalahleni.

The queen and the winner of the Idols SA Season 16 was well celebrated when she was officially welcomed on Friday, December 18.

Taking the crown from KwaZulu-Natal’s Mr Music the last two contestants standing in the tough competition, it was left to Zama to bring it home, to the Coal City.

Driving through in a convoy her first stop was the Highveld Mall touching base at Witbank High her previous school, CBD, KwaGuqa, KG Mall, some areas of KwaGuqa extensions and ending up at Hlalanikahle Hall.

She thanked everybody who supported her throughout her musical journey, even though at times she stated that she wanted to give up but was urged to carry on.

“Since the beginning of the competition in September, Zama from eMalahleni in Mpumalanga always set the bar high for the other contestants and has been trending on social media to date, because she dominated weekly; not just as a female contestant, but a vocally strong gospel singer who transitioned into an Idol that is loved by her fans in South Africa and the world at large”, says the official Team Zama.

She promised that she won’t disappoint the people of the city, the province and South Africa.
