Baby found in the parking area of a local church

A two-day-old baby girl was found in a church’s parking area earlier this week.

The mom left the baby in the parking area on Tuesday, May 4.

She was born on Monday, May 3.

“The baby girl was left with a nappy, some surgical spirits, wrapped snugly in a thick blanket,” said Ms Tammy de Oliveira from New Life Children’s Home. 

The police were called out and the case was reported to the Child Protection Unit.

The baby was taken to a doctor, who confirmed that she is in perfect health.
