Emergency planned power outage this weekend

This work needs to be carried out as an urgent matter due to the substation operating under non-compliant conditions

There will be a planned emergency power outage at Dixon Substation, Saturday, January 15 from 08:00 until Sunday, January 16 10:00 for the installation and commissioning of the switchgear.
The work to be carried out entails the decommissioning and dismantling of the vandalised and unsafe 11kV switchgear, which has been left in a dilapidated stated as a result of theft and vandalism occurring on a regular basis at Dixon Substation and will be replaced with new equipment.
This work needs to be carried out as an urgent matter due to the substation operating under non-compliant conditions which poses a danger to both municipal operators and the public at large.
The following areas will be affected:
• Brentwood on Springbok Street
• Yellow Door
• Tasbet Park Ext 1,12 & 17
• Reyno Ridge Extensions 1,5,6,9,10,15,16 & 17
• Reyno Ridge School in Gazelle Street
• Witbank Ext 16
•Khayalami Impala
•Village green
•Tasbet spar
•Tasbet park KFC
•Dixon Plots
•Ridge View Security Estate and the Ridge Estate
•Del Judor Ext 2 and surrounding area
•Pop a Daisy
The areas affected were identified at the time of publishing but can change due to ring feeds on the network.
The network should be treated as live during this period.
