Three arrested for attempted murder, attempted theft and attempted trespassing
One of the alleged thieves died after been shot.

Three suspects aged between 22 and 42 were arrested by police at Ga-Nala on charges of attempted murder, attempted theft as well as trespassing.
The suspects appeared at the Kriel Magistrate’s Court on January 14.
According to the report, police received information that the said suspects were allegedly stealing copper cables at Matla Power Station and responded accordingly on January 12.
Upon arrival at the power station they were met by security guards who led them inside to search for the suspects.
While they were searching four suspects came running out of a container shooting at the police and a shootout ensued between the suspects, police and security guards.
“The suspects fled thereafter, but were later found by police hiding inside a truck that was parked on the premises and they were apprehended. One suspect was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries from the shootout,” said Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, provincial police spokesperson.
