Golfing it out to fight against diabetes
Andrew's dream is to make other people aware of the dangers of Type 2 diabetes.
eMalahleni born Andrew van der Walt seeks a helping hand to be able to complete a medical operation.
Van der Walt has worked most of his life on coal mines in and around the city.
In the last year, he had to move to Pretoria to be closer to the Steve Biko Hospital, which is the hospital that performed multiple amputations on both his legs.
Both his feet were amputated whereafter his right leg between the foot and the knee was also later amputated.
With the double amputations, he is unable to work and live off a SASSA grant.
Incomesure (Pty) Ltd and The Angel Lee Foundation reached out to get Andrew more mobile to live his dream which is to make other people aware of the dangers of Type 2 diabetes.
A fundraiser golf day will be held to aid Andrew to be mobile again.
