‘Weed lands’ man behind bars

A tip-off was the end of the rope for the alleged dealer.

Not R10 000, not R30 000 but R50 000 worth of dagga is off the streets in Ga-Nala.

A 33-year-old man was arrested by Kriel police on February 19 for possession of dagga.

The man was arrested after police received a tip-off of the suspect selling dagga.

“Police went to the man’s house and indeed found the dagga there,” Constable Angel Makubu, police spokesperson of Kriel SAPS said.

Inside the house, 25 plastic bags filled to the brim with dagga was found.

The man appeared in Kriel Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 21 and the case was postponed.
